On high-speed expressways, we often see the following types of outdoor equipment: cameras, auxiliary flashlights, VMS, and monitor , etc. They are distributed in a strip along the expressway, with dispersed loads and long distances, and work with long-term loads without human supervision.

The power supply for outdoor equipment needs to be led out from substations in service areas and toll stations, with transmission distances ranging from 10 to 30 km. Long distance transmission requires increasing the wire diameter to solve the problems of cable voltage drop and temperature rise, so the investment cost will become very high.

Some expressways use solar/wind power for power supply, and the stability of electricity is greatly affected by the natural environment. The battery has a short lifespan, heavy maintenance workload, and high cost in cold and hot environments, so this power supply method has significant limitations in application.

To solve the power supply problem of expressway distribution equipment, the remote power supply system is a professional power supply provided by our company for long-distance power supply of the expressway . It can provide stable and reliable AC voltage stabilizing power supply for the monitoring equipment installed on the roadside of the expressway.

This system mainly consists of three parts: power generator (local terminak), power converter (remote terminal), and transmission cable.
The localterminal is installed in the power supply room of toll stations or service areas along the expressway, the remote terminal is installed next to various outdoor monitoring equipment along the expressway, and the transmission cable is installed along the expressway between the local terminal and the remote terminal.

      The local terminal is installed nearby in the machine room or distribution room (preferably at a constant temperature), with a five wire input of AC380V to the equipment and a two-wire output of DC750V. The local terminal provides interfaces and related software with the power monitoring system. A local terminal can connect to multiple remote terminal machines. Two core power cables are responsible for efficiently transmitting power to load terminals. The local terminal products have instantaneous value control and online adjustable functions, with high control accuracy, strong load adaptability, low noise, and strong anti-interference ability, suitable for supplying power to expressway. The system adopts a modular design and can provide N+1 redundant backup of power modules as needed. The device has overcurrent and overvoltage protection functions. Input undervoltage protection, input overvoltage protection, output overvoltage protection, output undervoltage protection. It has open circuit and short circuit protection functions to prevent fire and personal injury. It has safety measures such as power overlap protection, leakage protection, over temperature protection, and suspended ground protection. Provide device self diagnostic function to facilitate equipment maintenance. Optional embedded management unit to monitor the working status and parameters of the device itself.
      The remote terminal device is installed on the side of the electrical equipment and is responsible for converting the DC750V transmitted from the local terminal to the AC220V required by the electrical equipment. A remote terminal can connect multiple load terminals. The remote device provides Ethernet and/or serial interfaces for seamless integration into expressway communication systems. The input voltage of the converter can be adjusted according to the load situation, which not only isolates the power supply loop from the mains power supply network, but also achieves precise voltage stabilization of the output voltage. The equipment has extremely high reliability. The product adopts modular design, and the impact of faulty components on other devices in the system is minimal, making it difficult to spread and easy to maintain. It has various special functions such as high output accuracy, short response time, automatic protection against load short circuit, isolation, filtering, and bidirectional anti-interference.
