On May 31st at 12:00, the main line of Kaijiang Liangping Expressway (Sichuan Province) in Dazhou City, Sichuan Province (referred to as "Kailiang Expressway") was officially completed and opened to traffic. At this point, the entire Kailiang Expressway has been opened to traffic.

Kailiang Expressway is the first inter provincial expressway jointly constructed by Sichuan and Chongqing since the launch of the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle construction. It starts near Qiaoting Village in Kaijiang County, intersects with the Wanda section of G5012 Enguang Expressway, crosses Mingyue Mountain southward, passes through the east of Gantang Town and Renshi Town, and ends near Beiyongxing Village in Xinsheng Town, connecting to the Chongqing section of Kaijiang Liangping Expressway. The main line has a total length of 30.367 kilometers and a roadbed width of 26 meters. It is constructed according to the standard of a two-way four lane expressway, with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

With the official opening and operation of the Kailiang Expressway, the travel time from Kaijiang in Dazhou to Liangping in Chongqing will be shortened from the previous 2 hours to 40 minutes. This not only increases the travel distance between the two places, but also further promotes the interconnection and coordinated development between Sichuan and Chongqing.
